Lynne Wilson

Mrs. Lynne Cantley Wilson, 78, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, with her children by her side.  She was the loving wife of Frederick A. Wilson, MD for nearly 57 years.
Born March 12, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Ruth Ann (Forrester) Cantley.
She graduated from Columbia University in 1961, and became a licensed dental hygienist the same year. The following year, she and Fred were married.  They lived in New York, Connecticut, S. Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Germany, and Pennsylvania, before settling back in South Carolina for almost 20 years. They moved to Maryland in 2008 to enjoy retirement and be close to their grandchildren.
While in South Carolina, she was a member of the League of Women Voters, the Medical University Women's Club in Charleston,  The Garden Club of Charleston, SC, and the First (Scots) Presbyterian Church on Meeting Street in Charleston.
Along with her husband, they were involved with their church and other community organizations. They were avid world travelers, and enjoyed many European trips.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Douglas A. Wilson and wife, Victoria S. of Frederick, MD; daughter, Victoria W. Powell and husband, Gregory R., of Pittsburgh, PA; and three grandchildren, Meredith, Matthew, and Michael Wilson;
Mrs. Wilson was predeceased by her brother, Gordon Cantley, Jr.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from the chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. Interment will immediately follow in the cemetery.
