Luther "Ellwood" E. Netz, Sr., 76, of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Born on March 5, 1938, in Appletown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Carmie and Viola (Morrison) Netz, Jr.
He owned and operated E and P Painting in Warfordsburg for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Unit # 0066 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Elwood is survived by his wife, Deborah Netz, whom he married on October 18, 2001; his three daughters, Loretta "Sisie" Clifford and her husband, Steve, Catherine "Candy" Jennings, and Tonia Leibrand and her companion, Joe Betts; three sons, Luther Netz, Jr. and his wife, Donna, Michael Netz and his wife, Lisa, and Daniel Netz and his wife, Robin; two step-daughters, Shauna Lopez and her husband Victor, and Tiffaney Stoehr and her husband, Chris; a sister, Joyce Sigler and her husband Raymond; twenty grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; and his two ex-wives, Patricia Jean Netz and Pat Netz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Doris Davis and Delavene Cunningham; two brothers, Daniel E. Netz, Sr. and George Morrison; and two grandchildren, Shaun and Crystal Netz.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Delmas Bard will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713 to help the family defray funeral costs.
