Mrs. Lulu Frances Knight Dennis, of Walkersville, Maryland passed away at her home on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 77 years old. She was the wife of James Edward Dennis.
Born on July 7, 1936 in Harper, Maryland County, Liberia, West Africa. She was the daughter of Ambassador Joseph Emery Knight and Kate Dennis, who predeceased her.
Lulu attended the Fannie Farmer Cookery School in Boston, Massachusetts and successfully completed a two-year course of studies there in Culinary Arts. She thereafter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Culinary Arts from Calvin Coolidge College of Liberal Arts in Boston.
Lulu was predeceased by her brother Joseph. She is survived her husband, James, their children, Charles (Karen), Junde, Genal, Jay (Adrianne), and Rodney, as well as her sisters, Hilda Knight Cooper, and Gertrude Toles Walker, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, 21702. The family will be present to receive friends between 1:00 – 1:30 pm, immediately prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD. 21701.
