Luella Miller

Luella Miller, age 83, passed away at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 21st.  Born in Allegany County, Maryland, Luella most recently resided in a home operated by Community Living, Inc.  Luella lived at the Rosewood Center and at the Victor Cullen Center before coming to Community Living in 1976.  Luella worked at the Scott Key Center in Frederick for many years- they also assisted her in obtaining a job at Roy Rogers where she worked for more than 15 years.  Luella was a long time member of Calvary United Methodist Church and greatly enjoyed her time there and the variety of supports they provided to her over the years.  The staff there has done an amazing job, embracing Luella and others for over 20 years.

Luella is survived by a niece and will be remembered by many staff who knew and loved her.  She will be sorely missed by her housemates Cindy and Carol with whom she lived for 30 years.  The three ladies were like sisters and shared many memories and experiences together.

Services for Luella will be held on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church.  The Reverend Harry C. Cole will officiate.  There will be a luncheon at the Church immediately following the service.  I lieu of flowers, people can make donations in Luella’s name to Community Living, Inc. 620 B Research Court, Frederick, MD 21703.
