Luella B. Himes, 94, of 111 Grand Oak Drive, Hagerstown, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 6, 208 at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Brownsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Emory Oswald and Lula Elizabeth Spencer Potter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Edward Himes, in 1972.
She was a charter member of the Christian Holiness Church in Gapland, MD from 1957 to 1998 where she served several offices and taught Sunday School for 35 years. In recent years, she attended The Good Shepherd Ministries Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty June Highbarger and husband, David, and Jean M. Holmes and husband, Ralph, all of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Barbara J. Leatherman and husband, Randy, of Fairplay and Lisa Ann Ferraiuolo of Hagerstown; one great-granddaughter, Krystyn N. Ferraiuolo; three great-grandsons, Jared M. Leatherman, Jordan M. Leatherman and Bryan D. Ferraiuolo; sister-in-law, Esther Harwood of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, Arnold King of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Steven S. McCullough and Richard E. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
