Mrs. Lucy Annabelle Wolf, 88, of Smithsburg, died peacefully on Mother's Day morning. She was the loving wife of the late Woodrow Wilson Wolf. They were married New Year's Eve in 1945 until his death on July 11, 2010.
Born November 9, 1926 in Gingham, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herschel Alvin and Frances Arvella (Coddington) Burnside. Mrs. Wolf graduated from Tipp City High School in Ohio, Class of 1944.
In earlier years, she farmed with her husband on Highland. Mrs. Wolf was a hard worker, an immaculate housekeeper and an excellent cook. She loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed reading.
She is survived by four children, Ronald Woodrow Wolf and wife, Mary Kaye, of Madison, WI; Judith A. Wiles and husband, Tim, of Wolfsville; Stephen A. Wolf and wife, Theresa, of Wolfsville; and David Lee Wolf and wife, Sherri, of Waynesboro, PA; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14th at Welty Church of the Brethren, 13465 Greensburg Rd., Smithsburg, with visitation at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Manthos.
Interment will follow in German Reformed Cemetery, Wolfsville.
