Luciano Pineda, Jr.

Mr. Luciano P. "Lou" Pineda, Jr., 50, of Brunswick died peacefully at home on Friday, April 11, 2014 surrounded by his family following a six-week battle with Leukemia. He was the loving husband of 15 years to Cheryl Pineda.

Born October 1, 1963 in Washington, DC, Lou was the son of the late Etta and Luciano P. Pineda, Sr.

Lou had a career as an educator, first with Jefferson County schools for 17 years and the last 13 years with Frederick County Public Schools. Lou was a sixth grade Language Arts teacher at Middletown Middle School at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Brunswick Eagles Aerie 1136, Brunswick Moose 1582, and American Legion Brunswick Post 96.

He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Lou loved life, and he enjoyed singing Karaoke.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Candy Eubank and husband, Chuck; Becky Dodson; and Jason Dodson and partner, Chris Ratliff, all of Brunswick; six grandchildren, Cody Dodson, Isaiah Dodson, Abigail Pineda, Lexi Eubank, Logan Eubank and Isabella Dodson; one brother, Art Pineda of Brunswick; and a niece, Brittany Murphy of Waynesboro, PA.

He was predeceased by a brother, Eli Pineda; a sister, Ann Bly; two nephews and one niece.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Heffler officiating.

Interment will follow in Rocky Springs Cemetery.
