Mrs. Louretta M. Blair, 85, of Mt. Airy went to be with her Lord on Sunday May 2, 2010 at her home after a short Illness. She was the wife of the late George R. Blair who died on October 14, 1992.
Born in Needmore, PA., on December 11, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Harvey Russell and Angeline Landers Mellott.
Louretta was employed as a cafeteria manager at Potomac Elementary School thru the 50s and 60s and worked for the Girl Scouts of America at Camp Rockwood in the 70s.
Her passions in life were her family, gardening and the outdoors. She was a beautiful lady that will be missed by all.
Surviving is a son George Blair Jr., and wife Jeannine of Mt. Airy. Two granddaughters Jennifer Lencioni and husband John of Westborough, MA., and Christy Chenausky and husband Brad of Linville, NC., and one grandson Adrian Lencioni. One sister Arbella Engle and husband Chester.
She was preceded in death by three sisters Mary Emge, Julia Roberts and Laura Shaw, and four brothers Ernest, Harold, Harvey and Walter Mellott.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy.
Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 6, 2010 at the Prospect United Methodist Church, 5923 Woodville Road, Mt. Airy, MD. 21771. Pastor Vicki Curry will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Prospect United Methodist Church at the above address.
