Louis (Louie) Romanell

December 8, 1981 — July 28, 2017

Louis (Louie) Stephen Romanell, 35, of Taneytown, Maryland, passed from this life to heaven on July 28, 2017.

Born on December 8, 1981, in Washington, DC, he was the son of Lawrence (Jake) Romanell and Joanne Marie (Kohut) Romanell.

Louie graduated from Linganore High School in 1999 and received his degree in business administration from Frederick County Community College.

He was the manager at Napa Auto Parts store and warehouse in Mt. Airy, Maryland for 17 years.

He was a member of the sons of the American Legion Post #121 and the National Hot Rod Association.

Louie loved drag racing at which he was a champion. He was also an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.  But most of all he loved being a father to his son, Sheldon. He enjoyed their many adventures together and snuggling while they watched Orioles games.  Sheldon was his pride and joy.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his dear son, Sheldon Andrew Romanell;  sister, Angela Johanna Gladhill and her husband Marshall; niece, Madeline Gladhill; nephew,  Mason Gladhill; grandfather, Stephen Kohut; aunt, Anita Guerriere; uncle, Gordon Guerriere; cousins, Valerie, Gina and Michael Guerriere. He is also survived by many dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9190 Church Street, Union Bridge, MD 21791 on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Father Jason Worley
will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church Building Fund.
