Louise H. Talley

May 3, 1928 — April 14, 2025

Frederick

Louise H. Talley, 96, life-long resident of Frederick, passed from this life suddenly on Monday, April 14, 2025, at her home. She was the loving and devoted wife to the late William R. Talley. They were married for 57 years at the time of his passing on September 25, 2007.

Born on May 3, 1928, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late R. Ames Hendrickson and Mary (Zimmerman) Hendrickson.

Louise graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 1945, and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Education from Hood College. Louise was an English Teacher at Frederick High School before raising her family. Once her children were in school, she was a substitute English teacher at Walkersville High School and Frederick High School many years.

An avid volunteer in the Frederick Community, she served over 40 years as a volunteer treasurer for Record Street Home and many years in the Maryland Room at the C. Burr Artz Public Library. Additionally, she was a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church, serving as Altar Guild and volunteering in the church office.

She lived and left on her own terms, fiercely independent to the end. She lovingly gave everything to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and to her always supportive church family.

A woman of strong faith, she endowed her loving family with that same sense of Christian service and selfless giving.

Remember her with joy as a life well-lived.

In her words..."Therefore, I live for today - certain of finding at sunrise, guidance and strength for the way, power for each moment of weakness, hope for each moment of pain, comfort for every sorrow, sunshine and joy after rain!"

She is survived by her children, Mary Talley Billy (John, deceased), Elizabeth Barone (Gaetano), William R. Talley, Jr. (Lydia), and John Clay Talley; grandchildren, Clay Billy (Kirsten), Francesco Barone (Sarah), Jason Talley (Sheena), and Jordan Talley (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Sophia Billy, Mason Talley, Alayna Talley, Avery Talley, Skylar Talley, and Giuseppe Barone; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Russell Smith (Clarence), deceased.
