Louise Shafer

Louise Shafer, 75, of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born in Beaver Creek, Maryland on July 23, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Clarence and Catherine (Bowers) Peters.
She attended South Hagerstown High School.
Louise worked as a cook at the Smithsburg Food Lion until 1999.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hagerstown for over 50 years. She's also a member of the Red Hat Society and a life member with the Blue Ridge Sportsman Association.
Louise enjoyed to cook, bake and play bingo in her free time.
Louise is survived by her children, Dana Louise Shafer and Tuck Koontz of Hagerstown, Robert "Bob" Lee Shafer and wife Brenda of Maugansville, Maryland, James Emory Shafer and wife Christie of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Michael Wayne Shafer and wife Dena of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; step-daughter, Sharon Wiles and husband Paul of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; step-son, Ronald E. Shafer and wife Jan of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; sisters, Margaret, Judy and Betty; brothers, John and Pete; grandchildren, Heather, Justin, Melissa, Logan, Katie, Jennifer, Robin and John; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Shafer, Jr. and a daughter, Mary Catherine Shafer.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held at the families convenience.
