Louise Horst

Louise S. Horst of Thurmont MD and recently of Country Meadows of Frederick, MD passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017. Born September 7, 1923 to James and Ida Longbottom in Ellisinore, Missouri.

Married to Raymond A. Horst June 19, 1943 in Riverside, California . They were married for 72 years. Together they had one son, Roger E. Horst and his wife, Nancy of Bonita Springs, Fl; one daughter, Patricia A. Cole and her husband Bill of Frederick, MD; grandsons, Jason  Horst and his wife Erin, Jared Cole and his wife Megan,  Todd Cole and his wife, Katie; granddaughter-in-law, Whitney Horst. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Emma Horst, Maryn Horst, Griffin Horst, Tyler Horst, Nora Cole and an additional great grand-daughter due in December; two sister-in-laws, Anne Horst and Vernette Longbottom and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; grandson, Brian Horst; brothers and sisters, Clifton, Burton, Walter, Charles, Erma, Una, Alta, and Loraine and their spouses. She was the last of her immediate family.

The family would like to thank Country Meadows for the loving compassion they showed our parents over the last eight years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 103 Church Street, Thurmont. Rev. J. Collin Poston will officiate with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to Mass at the church.
