Louise Bentz

Mrs. Louise M. Bentz, 90, of Frederick, formerly of Thurmont, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Somerford Assisted Living. She was the loving wife of the late James B. Bentz, (retired USN), who predeceased her on April 30, 2013.

Born September 25, 1926 in Graceham, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Bessie May (Kolb) Mort.

Louise worked at Claire Frock Co. in Thurmont as a seamstress for many years. She later worked as a receptionist at H&R Block in Thurmont. She was a life member of Graceham Moravian Church, where she taught Sunday School. Additionally, she assisted her husband with Boy Scout Troop 270 and was a member of American Legion Post 168 Thurmont auxiliary.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Louise is survived by her son, William B. Bentz and wife, Kim, of Frederick; four grandchildren, Kyle R. and wife, Ellie, of Brunswick; Ryan P. and wife, Krista, of Hagerstown; Leah R. and Gabe Arevalo of Vienna, VA; and Erin L. and Lee Ochoa, of Frederick; and six great-grandchildren, Mathew, Anna, Jocelyn, Cadence, Emilie and Aubree Bentz.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Somerford, Carroll County Hospice, and Dr. Stone.

Inurnment services for Mr. and Mrs. Bentz will be private.
