Lorraine E. (Olden) Taylor, 79, a resident of Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport, Maryland and formerly of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, surrounded by her family.
Born on December 24, 1931, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Pauline E. (Smith) Olden. Her husband, Orville M. "Buddy" Taylor preceded her in death in 2005.
Lorraine was a 1949 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She worked for Londontown Manufacturing Company as a seamstress in Boonsboro for many years.
She was a lifetime member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro and was a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post #10 Ladies Auxiliary in Boonsboro.
Lorraine is survived by three daughters, Kathy M. and her husband Ross Shields of Hagerstown, Connie J. and her husband Dennis Eichelberger of Smithsburg, Maryland and Yvonne C. and her husband Martin Roebeck of Niles, Michigan; two brothers, Clarence W. Olden of Ocala, Florida and Donald E. Olden of Boonsboro. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles W. Burk, Jr.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. Dr. Ray Roberson will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
