Lorraine M. Baysden, 92, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Born on January 8, 1932, in Janesville, WI, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Norma (Kidder) Spoden.
She was a longtime resident of Lothian, MD before moving to Keedysville, MD to live with her daughter, Deborah.
Lorraine left home at the young age of 14. She rented a room and worked while continuing her education. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1951.
She married and had five children, being a stay at home Mom until her divorce. After her divorce she would work as a cocktail waitress at the officer’s club on Andrews Air Force Base for several years before taking a course in Key punching. After completing this course, she would go on to work for Nationwide Insurance, where she continued working until her retirement.
She enjoyed Bowling, Roller skating, and boating in her younger years. After retirement she enjoyed window shopping, collecting beanie babies, coins, and Knick knacks. In her later life she enjoyed playing electronic Yahtzee while relaxing in her recliner and playing lifetime/hallmark and old movies in the background. She loved spending time with her family and loved them with all her heart and soul.
She is survived by her five children, Deborah (Jerry) Lease, Patricia Kay (Tuffy) Perry, Sharon Collins, Linda (Neil) Dacey, and David L Baysden. Her Grandchildren Stephanie Speaks, Jason Horn, Christina Collins, Amber Austin, Cassandra Silva, David A. Baysden, Christopher Collins, Jonathan Collins, Elizabeth Ventura, Kara Dacey, and Quint Dacey. And 21 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Norma (Kidder) Spoden, her siblings Edward Spoden Jr., Jeanette (Spoden) Dominy, Robert Spoden, Kenneth Spoden, and Michael Spoden. She is also preceded in death by her loving Son-in-Law, Bruce Collins, and a Great Granddaughter, Hope Marie.
Services will be held at Chestnut Grove Bible Church on November 16, 2024, at 12 pm: 3636 Chestnut Grove Road Keedysville, MD21756.
