Lori Slick

Lori Jeanne (Nicodemus) Slick , 53, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Life Care Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Born on February 9, 1960, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she is the daughter of Evelyn (Kinna) Nicodemus of Williamsport, Maryland and the late Edward Nicodemus.

Lori graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1978. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.

She served as Director of  Nursing at Homewood at Williamsport.  She also worked at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro, the Washington County Hospital, and at Hospice of Washington County.  She served as an instructor of nursing at Hagerstown Community College and most recently at Kaplan University.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Maryland.

Lori enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts.  She also enjoyed playing the piano. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who loved to spend time with her family and her pets.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving husband, Jack W. Slick; one daughter Elizabeth Slick of Boonsboro;  and one son, John M. Slick and fiancee, Nicole McLaughlin of Boonsboro; one brother, Phillip Nicodemus and wife, Stephanie of  Shepherdstown, West Virginia; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Pastor Greg Martin will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the funeral home.
