Lola Celia Talbot-Parra, 82, of Frederick, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Eduardo Manuel Parra who passed away in 1994. Lola was born in Quito, Ecuador on October 12, 1938 to the late Jorge Luis Talbot and Teresa Hermila Zavala. After moving to the United States in 1965 in her 20’s with her husband and two children they went to live in Bethesda, MD. They later moved north to Derwood, MD. Lola later began working for John Hancock Financial Corporation for 10 years then worked for Marriott International Headquarters for 22 years.
She had a strong relationship with Lord and enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren, gardening, speed walking and travelling overseas.
She was a devoted Mother to her family. Her grandchildren called her Vida which in Spanish means “Life”, it suited her very well, because she always made her family the center of her life. She leaves a legacy of two children, Edward Parra and Maria Parra LaVern and six grandchildren, Brittany LaVern Walker, Brandon LaVern, Dylan LaVern and Madison, Jordan and MacKenzie Parra; two great-grandchildren, Levi Clarke Walker and Tennessee Grace Walker; and out of 9 siblings, two are surviving Antonio Talbot in Brazil and Laura Talbot in Quito, Ecuador.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on July 24th at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on July 24th at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Farhney – Keedy Benevolent Fund.
