Lois Ann Painter, 59, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at her sister’s home surrounded by her loving family, after her long battle with T-Cell Lymphoma.
Born on May 15, 1959, she was the daughter of Barbara Louise (Carter) Painter and the late Woodrow Wilson Painter. Lois was a graduate of Boonsboro High School class of 1977. She worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for S.E.I. for more than 25 years. Lois loved spending time with her family, laughing with her sister and daughter, spending time with her twin grandbabies and her nieces and nephews, Mariah, Dustin, Wade, and Bryan. She loved to laugh and always brought a smile to everyone’s face!
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Heidi Nicole Mentzer and her son-in-law, Detrick Landrum of Greencastle; her twin grandchildren, Harmony and Grant Landrum; her brother, Ralph Painter and wife Cindy of Sharpsburg; her sisters, Wanda McIntyre and fiancé George Hurta Jr. of Boonsboro, Donna Shepley and husband Richard of Smithsburg, Kathy Fitzwater and husband David of Smithsburg and Barbara Jones and husband Gary of Hagerstown. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her father, Lois was preceded in death by her partner David W. Mentzer, whom passed away in October of 1999 after his battle with cancer.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713. A Celebration of Her Life’s Journey will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 11th at the funeral home. Interment will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
