Mrs. Lois Maxine Bowie-Fossett-Williams (better know as Maxine), 86, of Frederick, died peacefully at Citizens Care and RehabilitationCenter, on March 13, 2011. Born October 15, 1924, Buckeystown Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Hazel (Liason) Bowie. She was preceded in death by husbands Irvin W. Fossett, Sr., and Horace Williams.
Maxine was a member of SimpsonUnitedMethodistChurch, New Market, and served as Secretary, Treasurer and Communion Steward. While married to Mr. Williams, she transferred her church membership to DorseyChapelUnitedMethodistChurch, and served as a Communion Steward . She was employed as a domestic worker by the Richie family, Gove family and the Kemp family. She belonged to the Hope Chapter #52 Order of the Eastern Stars.
Surviving are two sons Talmadge D. Fossett, Sr., of New Market and Eugene C. Fossett, Sr., and wife Shirley, of Frederick, daughter-in-law, Edith Ann Fossett Dorsey, of Mt.Airy, and one sister Caroline Bowie, of Frederick. Grandchildren - Jacqueline Fossett, Edward Ingram, David Fossett (Angela), Kimberly Anderson (George), Filmore Fossett (Carrie), Deborah Fossett, Talmadge (Doug) Fossett, Jr, Sheila (Nayse) Fossett, Keith Howard, Shelly Howard, Tasha Howard, Eugene (Jay) Fossett II (Kelly), Jacqueline Thompson (Lewyn), and Jonneita Bowins (Robert). 33great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. One sister Carolyn Bowie, of Frederick, four sister-in-laws, Bernice Cattrel of Texas, Barbara Faizul of Sterling, Va., Carolyn (Judy) Sedat of Conneticut, and Dorothy Bowie, of Frederick, and a host of niece, nephews, cousins and good friends.
She will also be missed by Pastor Ernest Thomas and wife Caroline, Sheila Thompson and Katherine Biggus.
She was also preceded in death by her son Irving (Billy) Fossett, Jr., grandsons Craig Fossett and Irving W. Fossett III, brothers Alton D (Caroline), and Charles Bowie, sisters Catherine Bowie Overs (John) and Naomi May Bowie Crumble-Hill (Carroll).
The family would like to thank the staff of Citizens Care and RehabilitationCenter for all they did for our mother while she was in their keep.
Visitation will be held at the Christ United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick on Wednesday March 16, 2011 from 9:00 am until time of funeral services at 11:00am, where the family will be present to receive friends from 10 to 11:00am. The Bishop Merle Lyles will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Frederick.
