Lloyd Freese

The family of Lloyd Freese is saddened to announce his passing at the age of 81 on March 28, 2025 in Adamstown, Maryland.

Born September 14, 1943 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Lloyd was the son of Ambrose and Jean (Lloyd) Freese. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Mckenney and his grandchildren Colby and Reagan McKenney.

Lloyd attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1965. He started his career with Rohm & Haas, and worked positions in both the US and England. He later became a Project Manager within the engineering department of ICI Americas (now known as AstraZeneca) in Wilmington, Delaware. Given the transitory nature of his position, Lloyd was able to travel much of the country and spent significant time in both Florida and Northern California.

As an engineer, Lloyd always had a significant interest in the most current technology innovations and advancements. Through this passion he learned of DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation), which has been used to manage the physical effects of Parkinson’s Disease. He eventually elected to have the surgery in 2013, and was able to slow the effects of the disease for the numerous years to follow.

Prior to moving to Frederick, Maryland, Lloyd spent thirty years in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, living in the house that he helped build. As a man always on the move, Lloyd had numerous hobbies including sailing, scuba diving, bowling, photography, genealogy, and most importantly, spending time with friends and family.

Memorial donations may be made to any Parkinson’s foundation that focuses on future advancements for those living with the disease.
