Mrs. Lisa Marie Jacobs Quick, 46, of Clarksburg, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Lisa was born February 26, 1968 in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of Jay and Bonnie Leshkow Jacobs of Walkersville and the wife of John A. Quick, the love of her life.
Lisa graduated from Grove City College in PA. She then taught five years at Brunswick Elementary School and then continued as a home school teacher, to their three children, for 13 years. God and Family were the most important things to her. Her son said, “Mom loved to make people happy”. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, knitting, scrap booking and helped start and later administer the Frederick Force, Home School Association. Lisa loved the Nationals baseball, WVU basketball, the Redskins, and the Wizards.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three children Maggie, Mckenzie and John Samuel, her brother John Jacobs, her mother-in-law Barbara Quick, her father-in-law John Quick and wife Dee Haines and sister-in-law Virginia Skovron. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Helen “Baba” Leshkow.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Tuesday, September 30, from 3-5 and 7-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 11901 Bethesda Church Road, Damascus, MD, Wednesday, October 1, at 11:00 am with Pastors Rev. Jerry Beall and Dr. Henry Butler officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
