Mrs. Linda K. Freeman, 62, of Frederick, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of 43 years to Dennis Freeman.
Born February 11, 1951 in Baird, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Greta Black Davis and Charles Edwin Long.
She was a graduate of the Fleet Business School in Annapolis, earning a certificate in microcomputers. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cake decorating, walking, and was an accomplished seamstress. While living in Utah, she was a Certified Midwife. An active member of her church, she served as Relief Society president (women's organization), Young Women president, and Primary president (the children's organization) and many other music, teaching and leadership positions.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by eight children (and their spouses): David Freeman (and Eva) of Tucson, AZ; Lydia Black (and Sean) of Waukesha, WI; Adam Freeman (and Danell) of Tooele, UT; Kaelyn Grant (and Micah) of Layton, UT; Tatiana Schild (and Benjamin) of Taylorsville, UT; Heidi Jenkins (and Scott) of Pocatello, ID; Alex Freeman (and Tiffany) of Ivanhoe, VA; and Gary Freeman (and Emily) of Firth, ID; 32 grandchildren; two sisters, Theda Coglin (and Doug) of West Valley City, UT; and Mischell Shapiro (and Bruce) of Sudbury, MA; and one brother, David Long (and Sue) of Upland, CA.
Linda was predeceased by an infant son, Jon Freeman.
Services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 199 N. Place, Frederick, MD. Viewing from 5 - 6:30 pm, funeral at 7 p.m. - Bishop Vandre officiating.
Additional services will be held on Friday, November 1 in Logan, UT.
Local arrangements are being handled by Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
