Linda Duble

Mrs. Linda Faye Duble, 66, of Thurmont, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Larry G. Duble for 48 years.

Born December 4, 1948 in Middleburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Ethel Sharrer.

Linda retired from State Farm Insurance where she had worked as a Claims Adjuster for 37 years. Most recently, she had been employed at Homewood at Crumland Farms as a receptionist for the past nine years. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Rocky Ridge and was the church organist for over 40 years. Linda was a life member of the Guardian Hose Company and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary for 11 years.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her son, Michael Duble and wife, Kim; her daughter, Michelle Wivell and husband, Wayne; her sister, Rebecca Welch and husband, Henry; grandchildren, Charity and Cody Wivell, and Samantha and Andrew Duble; step-grandchild, Rudy Janish II; great-granddaughter, Rebecka Anne Wivell; and a step great-grandchild, Jocelyn Janish.

Additionally, she is survived by her nephew, Gordon Strawsburg and wife, Lisa; niece, Kay Strawsburg; numerous great nephews and nieces; and great-great nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by a nephew, Thomas Strawsburg.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ in Rocky Ridge, with Pastor Dan Ricketts officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
