Linda L. (Wright) Donovan, 67, of Middletown, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life to the next on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at her home.

Born March 22, 1948 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Harold Bell and Nettie Virginia (Lawson) Wright.

Linda was a 1966 graduate from Beall High School in Frostburg, Maryland.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1970 from the Western Maryland (McDaniel) College, and achieved her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.

Her working career began in 1970, when she was a teacher in special education at the Lincoln Intermediate Unit in Adams County, Pennsylvania.  In 1971 she was employed with the State of Maryland.  Linda worked in various counties throughout the State with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, with her final position in Washington County.  Linda then entered into private Social Work practice and also handled court custody evaluations in Frederick and Washington Counties.  For the past 10 years, she was the Director of Counseling Services at Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Linda had a passion for riding her bike.  She loved to spend time outdoors and she was an avid reader.  She dedicated her life to raising and spending time with her children.  She was happy to be a 100% qualified, attentive, listening, life enhancing, friendly, caring Social Worker.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Rev. Joseph I. Donovan, III; two sons, Michael J. and Colin A. Donovan, both of Middletown; and her brother, Rev. Harold "Chip" Bell Wright, II of Annapolis, Maryland.

The family invites their friends to join with them in celebrating Linda's life journey at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, in the Cardinal Keeler Seminary Dining Room at the McGowan Center at Mount Saint Mary's University, 16300 Old Emmitsburg Pike in Emmitsburg, Maryland, 21727.
