Linda Luciel Barnett

November 10, 1960 — February 24, 2025

Mount Airy

Linda Luciel (Nance) Barnett, a beacon of love and warmth, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at her home in Mount Airy, Maryland, with her faithful dog Buddy on her lap and surrounded by the gardens she tenderly cultivated. Born on November 10, 1960, in Lawrence, Kansas, Linda's life was marked by her creative spirit, thoughtful nature, and passionate devotion to her loved ones and community.

In the heartwarming embrace of her home, Linda lovingly provided daycare for sixteen years, nurturing countless children with her inherent warmth and joy. Her career later transitioned into the world of accounting where her meticulous attention to detail and reliability became her trademarks. Even amidst her professional endeavors, Linda's heart was always with her family and community. She dedicated 23 years to the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company as a volunteer EMT and serving on numerous committees, a testament to her unwavering commitment to helping others.

Linda's interests were as varied as they were fulfilling. She found solace in the beauty of her gardens, which bloomed with the same vibrancy and warmth that she carried in her heart. Sewing, machine embroidery, and grilling on her Big Green Egg were more than hobbies for Linda; they were expressions of her love, often gifting handcrafted treasures and food to those she held dear. The beach was her ultimate sanctuary, and she looked forward to annual family vacations full of sun, sand, laughter, and love.

Above all, Linda cherished the time spent with her family, creating memories that would become their most treasured inheritance. She is survived by her adored lap-dog Buddy, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship. Her daughters, Mandy Weiser and Kelly Welsh, sons-in-law Jake and Jack, and her beloved grandchildren Allie, Christopher, and Connor, filled her life with laughter and love. Her grand-dogs, Lilly and Ashton, will miss the affectionate pats and treats she always had ready for them.

As the sun sets on Linda's earthly journey, her legacy continues to bloom in the lives of those she nurtured. The beauty she cultivated, both in her gardens and in the hearts of her family, will endure as a reminder of a life well-lived. Linda’s story is one of love, dedication, and the profound impact one person can have on the world around them. She will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she loved.
