Lillian McClement

August 3, 1932 — April 5, 2017

Ms. Lillian J. McClement, 84, of Frederick, formerly of Leisure World, Silver Spring, died on April 5 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Born on August 3, 1932 in Seward, PA, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Horvath Swatsworth and Orvis Swatsworth.

Lillian relocated to the Washington, DC metro area to pursue an occupation, which she found with the United States Navy.  When her children were born, she resigned her job in order to raise them and later began working as an administrative assistant for the National Institutes of Health.  Ms. McClement was a former member of Glenmont United Methodist Church in Silver Spring until her 2015 move to Frederick, where she then found a church home at Calvary United Methodist Church.  She lived at Leisure World for 31 years, making many friendships and connections and volunteered for many hours in the gift shop at Montgomery General Hospital.  Lillian enjoyed crafting, ceramics and playing Bingo.

She is survived by her son, Randy McClement and his wife Maryjane; daughter Judith Beltowski and her husband Daniel; grandchildren: Michael Beltowski and Melissa Campbell and her husband Daniel as well as two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jacob.  Lillian also leaves a brother, Robert Swatsworth and his wife Mary.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 8 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 9 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Private interment will be in Armagh Cemetery, Armagh, PA on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Homewood Auxiliary Fund, 7407 Willow Road, Frederick, MD 21702.
