Lewis "Bud" Free

Mr. Lewis “Bud” Eugene Free of Brunswick, Maryland died Saturday June 12 at the age of 84.

He was born May 1, 1926 in Frederick, Maryland to Mildred M. Stockman and Raymond P. Free of Frederick.

He is survived by the extended Miller family, Bill and Karen, BJ and Dustin and their families; sisters Betty Romsberg and husband Roy of Frederick, Maryland and Mildred Corun of Brasstown, North Carolina and Nancy Zittle of Frederick; two brothers, Thomas Danner of Kennewick, Washington and Charles Danner of Braddock Heights Maryland. He is also survived by several neices and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Raymond P. Free, Jr.

Mr. Free spent most of his working life in the horse racing business, mostly on the east coast, including Charles Town, WV. He worked as a trainer and was passionate about horses. After retiring from the Charles Town Race Track, Mr. Free lived in Brunswick. He will also be remembered by several friends at the Brunswick House Apartments.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17 th from 10:00-11:00AM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick where funeral services will begin at 11:00AM with Rev. Tom Fralin officiating.

Interment will be in Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
