Lester Lawrence Selders, age 73, of Reedville, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Rappahannock Medical Center in Kilmarnock, VA.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1935, in Aurora, WV, a son of the late Elmer (Pat) and Goldie May (Sims) Selders.
Lester retired after 38 years as vice president of manufacturing with North American Housing, Inc., in Point of Rocks, MD.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
Lester is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia L. Selders; two sons, Charles L. Selders of Sterling, VA, and Kerry K. Bradley and wife Nicole of Ashburn, VA; four sisters, Viola C. Walker, Vivian J. Janoske and husband Ralph of Oakland, MD, Margaret C. Martin and husband Dwight of Bayard, WV, and JoAnn Lambert and husband Gene of Oakland; two brothers, Raymond H. Selders and wife Barbara of Oakland, and Harold N. Selders and wife Katie of Hamilton, VA; and two grandsons, Alexander and Christopher Bradley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Regina C. Stone.
The family will receive friends at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro, MD, on Thursday, March 26, from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 27, at 11 A.M. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro.
