Lester Eugene Ripple

Lester Eugene "Rip" Ripple, a long-standing member of the Sharpsburg, MD community, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Berkley Medical Center, in Martinsburg, WV.

Born in Sharpsburg, MD on February 21, 1942 he was the son of the late Omer Lee and Katherine Hutzell Ripple.
Lester was a graduate of Boonsboro High School class of 1960, the first graduate of his family. He then served his country in the USMC from 1960-1966. He retired from AT&T/ Lucent Technologies after thirty years of service. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 71 in Oakland, MD. He was confirmed in St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg on April 28, 1957.

Lester, lived life on his own terms, he enjoyed golf, NASCAR, the New York Yankees, the Indianapolis Colts, scratch off tickets, and his mastery of the culinary arts.

Lester is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Sharon Ripple, of Sharpsburg, MD; his sons Darien Ripple (Daisy Fredericks) of Rockford, MI, and Tommy Ripple (Tammy) of Martinsburg, WV. He is also survived by his two grandsons Augustus, and Leif Ripple, both of Rockford, MI. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lee Ripple, and sister Melva Sanders.

Per Lester's request, services will be private.
