Lester Eckenrode

Mr. Lester “Sam” Eckenrode, 72, of New Oxford, PA., passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Manor Care, Chambersburg, PA.
Born March 25, 1943 in Westminster, MD., he was the son of the late George W. and Louella Naugle Eckenrode.
Sam was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his children Rebekah Stull and husband Walter, Jeffrey Eckenrode and wife Trudy all of Waynesboro, Barbara Rivera of Frederick, William Eckenrode and wife Terri of Walkersville, Samantha Eckenrode of Frederick and Ernest Eckenrode of Keymar, sisters Betty Harris of Williamsport, MD and Joan Toms of Thurmont, grandchildren Mary Rose and Daniel Eckenrode, Chris and Jess Rivera, John and Pam Eckenrode and special grandson Luke Bryan Stull, and great granddaughter Jazmyn Merricks. He will also be remembered by his friends Dave and Gail Smithers, June Held and Lillian Tuttle.
A memorial service will be held at Old Friends at New Oxford Apartments Community Room (where he lived), 500 N. Bolton Street, New Oxford, PA, Saturday, September 26, at 4:00 pm
A private graveside service will be held at Friends Creek Cemetery at a later date.
