Leroy Reinitz

Mr. Leory L. Reinitz, 85, of Frederick, MD passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Janelle Reinitz.

Born August 9, 1932 in Balaton, MN he was the son of the late Albert Herman and Viola Margaret (Thompson) Reinitz.

Leroy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. After his navy career, he followed up as a Pressman at the Washington Post. In addition, Leroy was a seasonal employee of his beloved Washington Redskins for over a decade. He was a member of good Shepherd Lutheran Church, NCVA and the American Legion. Leroy enjoyed bowling, photography, darts and listening to jazz. Leroy was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two daughters LuAnn Murphy and husband George of Washington, D.C. and JoAnn Schaening of Frederick; grandchildren George Murphy, IV and wife Elizabeth, Bridget Murphy, Cailin Murphy, Jacob Schaening and Seamus Murphy; sister Betty Mae Hansen and a niece Nancy Hilton. He will also be remembered by his son-in-law John Schaening.

He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Reinitz.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 21, at 10AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1415 W. 7th St., Frederick. Pastor Ed Heim will officiate.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
