Leroy Reeder

Mr. Leroy Junior Reeder, 85, of Boonsboro died on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. He was the husband of 31 years to Virginia Reeder.

Born on April 18, 1933 in Rohrersville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Emons and Gertie Reeder.

Leroy worked as a truck driver for many years for Bon-Ton, after his retirement, he worked for Securitas as a security officer. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 10 of Boonsboro.

He is survived by two children, Teresa Souders of Hagerstown and Mark Jones (Vanessa) of Martinsburg, WVA; his special grandchildren Amanda Souders and Angela Wolfkill, as well as, several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law and best friend Mark Shoemaker (Linda) of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews and his cat Freddie.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles and Harry Reeder, and Hazel Gardner and his brother-in-law Charlie Jones.

Funeral services will begin at 11am on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, with visitation one hour prior to service. Officiating will be the Rev. Tim May. Interment will follow in Boonsboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300 Rockville, MD 20852.
