Leoren Harry Martin

Mr. Leoren Harry Martin, 62 of Thurmont died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of 21 years to Katrinka Bollinger Martin.

Born in Maugansville, MD on November 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Floe (Meyers) Martin. Recently Leoren had worked for Carroll Independent, an oil burner service, and prior to was self employed with LHM Services an air duct cleaning service.

Leoren proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War, a time in his life he was very passionate about. He was a member of the Thurmont AMVETS.

A member of Our Lady of Carmel Catholic Church, he loved to do woodworking, photograph wildlife, and hunt and fish, especially with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, survivors include three children; Kelly Bagley and husband John of Hagerstown, Jody Webster and husband Robert of Mechanicsville, VA, and Randy Martin and girlfriend Kim Cracknell of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Kenneth Blake, Jarod Bagley, Alexandria, Virginia, Ashton and Morgan Webster; two sisters, Leanna Dick and husband Tom of Odenton, MD and Roberta Reagan and husband Patrick of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers Lawrence Martin and wife Harriet of Sharpsburg, MD and Thomas Martin and wife Mary of Florida; his mother and father-in-law, Sterling and Linda Bollinger of Thurmont. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

A brother, Orlo Martin preceded him in death.


Visitation: The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 8th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 M at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD.

Services: A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, July 9th, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, N. Church Street, Thurmont, MD. Burial with military honors will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
