Leona "Tiny" M. (Myers) Long, 72, of Young Avenue in Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on April 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William Luther and Virgie Viola (Smith) Myers, Sr. Her husband of 51 years, Thomas E. "Tom" Long, preceded her in death on January 31, 2011.
Mrs. Long was employed for over 30 years as a nursing assistant at the Washington County Hospital, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro.
Leona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sharon M. and husband Ronnie Reeves of Boonsboro and Debra L. and husband Daryl Long of Hagerstown, Maryland; one son, Thomas K. Long and wife Deena of Boonsboro; three sisters, Barbara Jones of Baltimore, Jo Ann Duffey of Boonsboro, and Nina Lee Dutrow of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania; one brother, William Myers, Jr. of Falling Waters, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Courtney, Katie, Megan and Evan; and four great-grandchildren, Tristin, Donnivan, Jayla and Rylan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Myers; and one grandson, Chuck Clevenger.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Joseph I. Donovan, III will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the funeral home where the family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
