Leonard "Bob" Ebersole

Leonard R. "Bob" Ebersole, 88, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, September 28, 2014, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland, with his daughter by his side.

Born on July  6, 1926, in Chestnut Grove, Maryland, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Lillian V. (Metz) Ebersole.  His wife, Betty L. Ebersole, preceded him in death on August 15, 2014.

Bob worked for Statton Furniture in Hagerstown, Maryland, retiring in 1982, after many years of dedicated service.

He will be fondly remembered for his meticulous yard work and his love of reading the newspaper.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Judy A. Nalley of Boonsboro; his granddaughter, Shannon Kain; and his great-granddaughter, Evelyn Kain.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard R. Ebersole, Jr.; three sisters, Lena Ridenour, Ruth Davis, and Blanche Ridenour; his two brothers, David Ebersole and Harry Jones; and his son-in-law, Gary Nalley, Sr.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  The Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the funeral home.
