Leonard Rice

Leonard F. Rice, of Walkersville died peacefully at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, his 83rd birthday. He was born January 11, 1934 in Lewistown, MD to the late Marion and Ethel Rice. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Margaret A. Rice; stepfather of David (Deborah) Talton, Donald (Angie) Talton, Edna Poper, Donna (Jeff) Willis and the late Catherine Tucker and John Talton, Jr.; brother of Billy Rice, Audrey Demaris, Joan Zahn and the late Harold Rice; also survived by 8 step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren and will be missed by his granddaughter Rebecca Fritz.
Leonard spent 21 years in the US Navy retiring in 1975. He was a painting contractor for many years. He was a member of the Fleet
Reserve Association, American Legion Post #282, VFW Post #10076, Amvets #02, Eagles #2226, and was a huge fan of both the NY Yankees and San Diego Chargers and loved to fish.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, MD on Sunday, January 15 from 4-8 pm and where service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11 am. Interment Glade Cemetery.
