Mrs. Leona J. Woods, 82, a longtime resident of Brunswick, died on Thursday June 16, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Oliver D. Woods.
Born on August 18, 1928 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Lee McClellan and Effie Smith Wiles.
She enjoyed bingo, fishing, the racetrack, eating crabs at May’s Restaurant in Frederick , the beach and dining at the Green Country Inn, Brunswick. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion.
Surviving is her grandson, Joe May III and wife Fay of New Market, Granddaughter, Teresa Schultz and friend David Wilcom. Great grandchildren, Joseph May IV and Curtis West Jr. and wife Jamie. Great great grandson, Curtis Ray West. Also survived by a cousin, Tom Wiles. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia May and her grandson Danny May.
Memorial services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, on Monday June 20, at 11:00am. The Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will be private in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In Lieu of flowers it was Leona’s request that donations be made the charity of ones choice.
