Leona Mae (Kitchen) Reeder, 93, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born on October 16, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Jane (Snyder) Kitchen. Her husband of 54 years, Donald Lee Reeder, preceded her in death on March 15, 2009.
Leona was employed with Hanover Shoe Factory in Middletown, Maryland for 30 years. She also had worked as a Cafeteria Aide at the Boonsboro High School.
She is survived by one brother, Bruce Kitchen of Boonsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight sisters, Lydia Crawford, Dorothy Staley, Anne F. Kitchen, Josephine Goliday, Lucy M. Kitchen, Amanda Myers, Kathy E. Kitchen and Lucille Kefauver; and seven brothers, Paul, Eugene, Jack, Martin, Charles, George, and Raymond Kitchen.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Dr. Ray Roberson will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
