Mr. Leon H. Underwood, 48 of Frederick, Maryland died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his home. He was the loving husband of Karen M. Underwood, his wife of 14 years.
Born December 1, 1963 at US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland he was the son of Dewey and Barbara Thompson Underwood.
Leon was a service manager for 16 years at Donald B. Rice Tire Company in Frederick. He loved the beach and also loved spending time on his boat. He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR. He was also an avid Cowboys and Red Sox fan.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his two daughters, Breann A. Underwood and Amber N. Underwood, a stepson, Stuart Wilkins, two sisters, Cherie L. Hyssong and husband Dave and Karen R. Smith and husband Kenny, his nieces and nephews, Brandon, Aaron, Taylor, Colin, Trey, Jordan, Dylan, Alexis and Anthony, his mother and father in law, Patrick & Doris Scheider, his three sister -in-laws, Gail, Lori and Dawn, and his Aunt, Doris Grossnickle and husband Steve.
He will also be remembered by his cousins and his numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna Marie.
The family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1415 West 7th Street, Frederick on Friday, October 12 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00PM with Pastor Ron Reaves officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Carroll County or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
