Leon Lavely Carr, Jr., 88, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away after his battle with Alzheimer's on July 2, 2015 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born on March 12, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan, he was the son of the late Leon L. Carr, Sr. and Verna E. (Clark) Carr.
He was a Navy veteran from World War II and a founding member of the Funkstown American Legion.
Leon retired as a Utility Equipment Operator for Mack Trucks.
Leon is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Frances Marion (Summers) Carr; two daughters, Kitty L. Gish of West Virginia and Tracy A. Carr of Boonsboro; two grandsons, Dale Gish and Joshua Lum; two granddaughters, Brandy Gish and Alyssa Lum; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
