Mr. Lenwood C. Moss, 89 of Walkersville, Maryland passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Citizens in Frederick. He was the husband of Sherley Moss.
Born November 19, 1924 in Knoxville, MD he was the son of the late Clarence and Alice Moss.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walkersville.
Lenwood served in the United States Army during WWII.
He was the former Postmaster in Brunswick and Reistertown. He was the past President of the Maryland NAPUS.
Lenwood was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and Lions Club in Brunswick and the AMVETS in Frederick. He was an original member of the Brunswick Vol. Ambulance Company and was also a member of the Walkersville Fire Company. He was an avid Redskins fan.
In addition to his loving wife Sherley he is survived by a son, T. Edward Moss and a daughter, Linda Moss, step daughter, Melanie Burns, grandchildren, Timothy Moss and wife Carrie, Daniel Moss and Shawn Moss, step grandchildren, Brandy Burns and husband Jason, Christopher Burns and wife Sheri and Ryan Burns and wife Marianne, great grandchildren, Taylor Moss, Griffin Moss, Calvin Moss, Julian Moss , Savannah Moss and Aislynn Moss, step great grandchildren, Nina Burns, Ansley Burns, Audrey Burns, Abigail Burns, Anne Burns and Carter Burns.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence Moss and Roland Moss and his sisters, Rosie Moss, Lucille Bowings and Helen Moss.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, March 13th from 2-4 and 6-8PM.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Walkersville on Friday, March 14th at 11:00AM with Pastor Mark L. Foucart officiating.
Interment will be in Creagerstown Cemetery.
