Mr. Leland "Lee" Denny, Jr. of Frederick MD, died on October 7, 2008 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Rita Denny of Frederick, MD. They were married for 51 years. Born in Scotia, NY on March 12, 1935 he was the only son of the late Mildred "Millie" Pickett Denny and Leland A. Denny, Sr.
He was educated at thirteen schools in Schenectady County, NY and graduated from Scotia High School.
He served in Korea during the Korean Conflict and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1960 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Lee was a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan where he worked for the American Standard Company. He then joined the General Electric Company where he worked until his retirement in 1991. While at GE, he worked in the Pre-Internet On-line Information Services Business and was granted a United States Patent for the design of a computer-to-computer telephone routing device.
His hobbies included computer games, and crossword puzzle solutions. Mr. Denny is survived by one sister, Patricia Byrnes of Ballston Spa, NY and her late husband, Walter, and one brother-in-law, Earl Bennett of Zephyrhills, FL.
He is preceded in death by his late sister, Linda Bennett.
He is also survived by his six children, Leland III and his wife Linda, of Middle Island, NY, Judi Fields and her husband Douglas Bowman, of Middletown, MD, Mark and his wife Lorena, of Monroe, NC, Timothy and his wife Lura, of Glen Burnie, MD, Christopher and his wife Lynda, of Berlin, MD, and Thomas Denny of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Andrew Fields, Christopher Denny, Jr., Marie Bowman, Nathan Denny, Michele Denny, Danielle Denny, Rachel Denny, Mark Denny, Jr., Timothy Denny, Jr., Kathleen Denny, Morgan Denny, Brendan Denny, Jarod Denny, Molly Denny and Luke Denny.

Services: The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Saturday, October 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at which time a memorial service will be held. Interment will be private.
