Lee Eyler, Sr.

Mr. Lee C. Eyler, Sr., 88, of Thurmont, MD, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 15, 2014. He was the loving husband of Josephine (Jo) Smith Eyler, his wife of 63+ years.
Born March 18, 1926 in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Allen C. and Dora E. Miller Eyler.
Mr. Eyler was a member of Weller United Methodist Church. He was a retired master carpenter. Lee loved spending time with his family, enjoyed farming, raising animals, country music and eating at Mt. Gate Family Restaurant.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children, Darlene Wastler and husband Donnie of Thurmont, Donald Eyler and wife of Fairfield, Kathy Wivell and husband Rick, Mark Eyler and wife Lori, Nancy Eyler, Lee Eyler, Jr and wife Julie all of Thurmont and Linda Kaas and husband Doug of Fairfield, 15 grandchildren, Donnie and Steve Wastler, Donnie, Jr., Mandy, Stephanie, Matt and Amy Eyler, Megan Clark, Chelsie and Lauren Eyler, Adam, Dean, Ashley, Emily and Luke Kaas and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by a special niece Nancy Sanders and husband Harold and special friend Steve. He was preceded in death by a special grandson Cody Lee Clark and his siblings Lloyd, Vaughn, Roscoe, Ralph and Earl Eyler, Verona Wetzel, Virgie Bentz, Lena Humerick and Viola Ott.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E, Main Street, Thurmont, Sunday, May 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Services will be held at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 N. Altamont Avenue, Thurmont on Monday, May 19, at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Kells officiating.
