United States Marine Lance Corporal Jordan Lee Chrobot, 24, went home to be with his Lord September 26, 2009. Chrobot was killed in action while serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Born January 2, 1985, he is survived by his beloved wife of two and a half years, Amber Bird Chrobot, formerly of Walkersville, MD. He was stationed in Camp LeJuene, NC.

He was the son of Kandy Poole Johns and husband Jerry Johns of Harrisonburg, VA and Walter Lee Chrobot and wife Susan of Baltimore, MD.

Jordan was a member of Berean Baptist Church.

Lance Corporal Chrobot joined the Marine Corps in November of 2006. His desire had always been to be a Marine since he was a young boy. Jordan graduated from New Life Christian School in June of 2003. He then went to work for his grandfather until he joined the Marines. Jordan was an avid confederate Civil War reenactor. He loved music and played the drums and guitar.

He is also survived by siblings Casie and Morgan Chrobot and Connor Johns of Harrisonburg, Va., maternal grandparents Ed and Anita Teague Poole of Frederick, MD, his paternal grandmother Margie Chrobot of Taylorsville, MD and a special aunt Dusty Hardman.

Jordan is also survived by his wife's family who loved him as their own and will miss him deeply, father-in-law and mother-in-law Chuck and Cindy Bird, brother-in-law Caleb (who has lost his best play buddy), brother-in-law and fellow Marine Sgt. Andrew Bird along with his wife Ashley and their children Nicholas and Natalie.

They will miss Uncle Jordan. Also survived by special cousins Carrie Martin and Michael and Stephanie Bird. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and his dog Piper.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Walter Lee Chrobot, Sr.

Jordan is a true hero and served his country faithfully.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, Saturday, October 3, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9:00 p.m.

Services: Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, at 2:30 p.m. from the Frederick Christian Fellowship Church ( formerly Lynfield Complex, Bldg. #5), 10142 Hansonville Road, Frederick with Rev. Jimmy Inman officiating.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick
