Lawrence J. O'Hara, Sr.

Mr. Lawrence J. O'Hara, Sr., 75 of Point of Rocks, MD., died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Washington Hospital Center. He was the husband of Nora Lee Smith O'Hara.

Born July 3, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mary O'Hara.

Mr. O'Hara served his country in the U. S. Army, retiring after more than 20 years of service. He was a highly decorated Korean War Veteran. Lawrence also retired from COMSAT and INTELSAT. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #684 and the American Legion Post #11. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his wife he is survived by six children Kathleen Cella and husband John of MA, Margaret Baldwin and husband Gary of OH, Michael O'Hara and wife Roxanna of PA, Patrick O'Hara and wife Lynn of KY, Lawrence O'Hara, Jr and wife Malissa of MD and Teresa Lanza and husband Jared of CA. There are thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a sister Coletta Mc Mahon and a brother Barry Finch and wife Zana, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be remembered by his special friends Polly and Whitey Wetherald.

He was preceded in death by a sister Anna Runser, a brother Joseph O'Hara and brother-in -law Robert Mc Mahon.

Services: Services will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Friends may visit with the family from Noon until time of service. Father Lawrence Frazier will officiate.
