Mr. Lawrence Edward "Griff" Griffin, 64, of Walkersville, MD died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of 44 years to Gloria J. Griffin.
Born July 8, 1949 in Jay, New York, he was the son of Ralph E. Griffin of Indian Lake, NY and the late Betty Maynard Griffin.
He worked at Solarex for many years designing and building solar panels. Griff was a member of the Lewistown Social Club, American Legion, Post 282 of Woodsboro, and AMVETS of Thumont. He was an avid fan of all types of auto racing and enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a son, Cale E. Griffin of Frederick; granddaughter, Devon Faye Griffin; a brother, Jay Edward Griffin and wife, Margaret, of Indian Lake, NY; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Edward Soper and wife, Patsy, of Cumming, GA.
He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Jeffrey A. Soper.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, MD.
