Mr. Lawrence Owen Edwards, Sr.,76, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Somerford Assisted Living. He was the beloved husband of the late Bonnie Edwards whom he loved spending time with.
Born March 4, 1939 in Charlottesville, VA he was the son of the late Carl Jasper and Lydia Marrs Edwards.
Lawrence worked for 38 years for Watkins Johnson prior to his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and fishing on the Shenandoah River and was very proud of the property he had built over the years in Harpers Ferry, WV.
He is survived by his children Donald Lawrence Edwards, Sr. and wife Mary of Walkersville and Vickie Edwards of St. Louis; grandchildren Donald (D.J.), Joseph, Nicholas, Tyler, Laila and great-granddaughter Mila; sister Louise Childress of Elkwood, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 12:30-1PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, where a service will begin at 1PM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will be private.
