Mr. George Feldt, 88, of Monrovia, MD passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Shady Grove Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Velma Feldt for 27 years.
Born on January 26, 1923 in Freeburg, Illinois he was the son of the late George Bernard and Laura Feldt.
Mr. Feldt is a Pearl Harbor survivor where he served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. George loved the military and politics. He was very social and loved to be around people. George was a good hearted and dependable man. He enjoyed attending the Catholic Church. Mr. Feldt was also a member of the VFW and American Legion in Mt. Airy and ADVETS in Frederick.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his five children Joseph Feldt of Monrovia, MD, Martin Feldt of NC, Deborah Kelly and husband Tom of Ashburn, VA, Robert Walls of Sardis, OH and Kathy Williams and husband Lewis of Beckley, WV; grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Lauren, Justin and Courtney.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt.
Airy on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11AM at St. Ignatius of Loyal Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Rd., Ijamsville, MD. Father Mike Jendrek will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
