Laura Jane Schroth

Laura G. Schroth, 80, of Myersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD. She was fondly known by her family and friends as “Jane.”  She was born on January 1,1944. She was the daughter of John P. Gibbs and Juanita (Guice) Gibbs. She graduated from Suitland High School in 1961.

She worked for over 40 years at the Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Office of the Chief Counsel, as an administrative professional.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Schroth. She is survived by her daughters; Kimberly Schroth-Meyer and her husband Steve Meyer and Michelle Colbert and her husband Richard; brothers John Gibbs and William Gibbs; her grandchildren Mikaela, Conner, Sydney, and Taylor; and her beloved cat “Patches.”.  Jane will be remembered for her love of baking especially her pound cakes, leaving $2 bills as a tip when going out to eat, and her love of ketchup.  

 The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
