Larry Stup, a well known educator, died November 14, 2014, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  He was the husband of Judy Stup, he wife of 45 years.

Born November 13, 1939, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late George Josiah and Laura Helen Day Stup.

Larry enjoyed many activities including poker, couples bridge and golf. His favorite place throughout his adult life was the small community of Sumner, Maine.  Former students frequently approached "Mr. Stup" with fond memories of their years as his student.


Surviving in addition to his wife are two children:  Lauren Koogle and husband Gareth of New Market and Joel Stup of Fairfield, PA; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Danielle and Griffin Koogle; a sister, Linda Stup Broadrup and husband Dr. Robert E. of Frederick; one brother, Stephen Jay Stup and wife Jeanette of West Virginia; an aunt Betty Davis Jeffers and husband Mark P. Jeffers of Monrovia; two cousins, Leslie and Teresa Jeffers; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Special friends were George Ambrose and the late Bryant Aylor.
He was pre deceased by his sister Alison Stitely and brother Darryl Stup.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, November 17, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick.  Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main Street, Sumner, ME 04292.
